I have the honor of teaching students with varying disabilities. My students range from students with autism to students with specific learning disabilities. As an teacher in an inclusive setting, I also work with all students in grades 3-5 who may be struggling academically or need enrichment to move them past their current level of understanding. Our students are mostly from within the neighborhood surrounding the school, yet I do service some students from other countries. Diversity for our classes is a daily experience that all students must deal with in some aspect. Learning to embrace all differences is a great initiative of mine and has been taken on by all of the students that I teach. I teach them to "be strong in who you are, strong in who you can be despite what others may see".
