We are slowly working more toward the online classroom of Google Classroom, and having access to many great educational programs online as well. All students in the building were given a Gmail account, which would allow them to communicate with me, collaborate with each other on group assignments, and access their documents wherever they are. Our Math book has many online resources that would improve understanding, and there are so many programs available that could be utilized in a high school special education setting in order to increase student engagement. The problem is... how can we access these resources without consistent use of computers? Our school has about 30 Chromebooks that have to be signed out and are rarely available, my own desktop computer is about 15 years old. With our own set of Chromebooks in the classroom, my students will be able to have access to many online resources without having to go begging around the building in order to utilize a computer. I am excited by the idea of being able to share documents and assignments while we are in the building and at home. This is going to allow me to assist my students in ways I never have been able to!
