All of my students have been identified as having a disability. Their learning challenges range from autism and learning disabilities to speech/language impairments and ADHD. As a result of their disabilities, a majority of my students struggle with reading. Some students are working on learning letter names and sounds; others are able to read fluently but need support with comprehension. Handwriting and the mechanics of writing are also very difficult for many of the children. Despite these challenges, my students work extremely hard each day to strengthen their skills. They want so much to become independent readers and writers and are motivated to succeed.
