My students are down to earth and very friendly. They take care of each other like no group of teenagers I have ever seen. They laugh with each other and cry with each other. There are no fights on campus, nor are there any cliques. They all get along with each other famously. They have excellent school spirit and work hard to improve their community both in and out of school. I began teaching at my current school after Thanksgiving in 2012, replacing a teacher who had to retire. The students welcomed me with open arms and helped me to feel at ease in my new situation. They are highly motivated and curious about the world, often asking pointed questions about current events. We are an urban school that, like most schools, often needs help providing our students with the newest technology in order to keep pace in a fast paced, ever changing world. Our school benefits from a diverse student population. By bringing together many cultures, our daily learning experience is that much richer.
