First graders spend a lot of time in our first grade learning area. This is where the children come for math number corner time, literacy time, story time, and sharing time. First graders love to learn, and need a place to sit that helps them to focus and feel excited about learning. We have so many academic challenges for our students, that they spend a lot of time on the rug in our "First Grade Corner." Class sizes have increased over the years, and this new rug not only replaces the worn, tired looking rug that is currently in my classroom, but it is colorful with thirty clearly marked spaces for sitting and learning. Thank you for helping my students have a great leaning environment!
