My students come from a diverse background, both economically and socially. I have on average 25-26 students each year. The family dynamics are comprised of many working families and many times a single parent. The kids are young and energetic and have a wide range of pre-kindergarten experiences. My student range from having no school experiences before walking into my classroom to having been in a learning center or preschool since they were very young. My school itself is the largest elementary building within my district. The school was previously a middle school prior to my district reorganizing and closing down elementary buildings. The rooms in my building are not designed with the elementary age child in mind.
