My students are my kids. Each and everyday, I smile as I drive to work. My ninety-three kiddos this year are hard-working, kind, and serious students. My cohort this year is made up of special education students, English Language Learners, students who have one parent, students who live is foster care, students who have lost a parent, and students who have experienced abuse and divorce. This year I have more students who have Executive Functioning, and I even have students who have medical issues. Despite all of the differences, I aim to make everyone feel equal, and I strive to be a teacher who is culturally proficient. My students come to me with limited knowledge on how to write a five paragraph expository long composition.
