I would like to purchase the Spark Drone for my STEM classroom, to allow student to explore the the role of engineers through a drone. The Spark Drone can use face recognition and hand gestures to control its moves though a specialized camera. Students will have a chance to explore and learn this technology. They will also be able use the drone to learn about science concepts, including: Bernoulli's Principle, stall speed - which leads to questions about electricity and electric motors, micro-controllers, and computer programing. The Spark Drone will engage the students to dive deeper into the roles of an engineer and how the complex machine - a drone - works. Students will also use the drone to understand the role of an engineer vs a scientist. They will learn how engineers use models, design solutions and test their solutions.
