Teaching Kindergarten before I took on the adventure of 2nd grade provided a fantastic foundation for fun in the classroom! No matter the age difference of my students my goal will always be to inspire a love of learning. Each student is different with their own needs and wants, and to encourage curiosity the lessons need to grab their interest. Math is more fun with manipulative's and a little competition when practicing skills. Reading books about your favorite characters, sports, and by your favorite author is not considered work, it's fun! Laughter is necessary every day, and we consider our class family. My students come from a variety of home lives, but many are in poverty situations. Our classroom is welcoming to all who enter, and students take pride in keeping it that way. They are loved and encouraged daily to be their very best!
