I teach at a school with a great mixture of ethnicities, cultures, and income levels. This broad spectrum of backgrounds allows for great opportunities to group low performing students with high performing students, to encourage peer tutoring, and to develop relationships outside the students' typical social groups. The school is one of the first schools in our city, located downtown, which brings in students from several close neighborhoods... government housing all the way up to downtown condos and walk ups, as well as housing in the historic district. This diversity makes us a very unique school in our area.
