Without a doubt, our world has changed drastically over the years. Our country's makeup has also changed along with its demographics. It is my goal to have a classroom independent reading library that is reflective of today's world- inclusive and diverse. As I am stepping back into an elementary school classroom position for the first time in a decade, it is important to me to diversify my class library so that students can not only find a reflection of themselves no matter their ethnicity but also read about issues that are still ongoing in today's world. My students are our future world and it is vital that they are well-rounded individuals.
