My students are urban, low income, second language learners. The culture of our school has changed from graffiti taggers to students who want to learn and go to college. The teachers at my school genuinely care about their students. Several have turned down jobs at higher performing schools so they can help these students. My school has also become a national AVID demonstration school due to the students efforts and passion of the teachers. We have approximately 44% meeting the A-G college admission requirements.
