The students in my three blocks are the most vibrant and energetic math learners I've seen. We start our mornings with the "Friday Night Light's" mantra--"Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose." The students picked this chant on their own to describe their journey through their first year of middle school. They are constantly searching for ways to connect math to their lives and to see how they will use math in the future--the question every math teacher loves. Despite going to a school that is 100% free lunch, they strive to achieve and move past barriers to succeed in life past high school.

About my class
