My students are amazing and I can not imagine each day at work without every single one of them! I teach at a rural, low socioeconomic school district. Our students come from a few, small towns and from in the country. That being said, students have up to a 20 minute drive to get to a library (if they can get a ride). Past and current students come to me to check out books from my classroom library (I try to get as many as I can), however it is hard to keep up with the types of books they want due to the cost. Last year I had students come to me on the first day of school and tell me that they hated reading and would never enjoy it. They were some of the same ones that were excited to run into my room and see if I was able to get any new books over the summer. I want to be able to keep reaching students like that and to be able to make the difference!
