In surveying my students, I learned that the majority of the class has some form of technology at home (smart phone, tablet, laptop, gaming system, and desktop). Students expressed that they are very comfortable using these devices for social media and gaming. I would like to build upon their knowledge by implementing Chromebooks and the Google app suite. To expand upon their use of social media, students will collaborate on local and global scales to develop skills in digital citizenship. These are students who are used to having technology at home, and by bringing it into the classroom it can only make learning more engaging. Currently at our school, there is one computer lab and one iPad cart that is shared between 17 classrooms. The more devices in each classroom, the more opportunities students have to learn with technology.
