This year my crew is a diverse group of (lots of) boys and (some) girls. They have a lot of energy and a lot of enthusiasm, and I thrive on it. Most of my students are learning English as a second language, and love when I make sad attempts at Spanish. We are at a Title I school, meaning that a large population meets requirements for free and reduced meals. The teachers work hard. When I arrive at 7:30 each day, I am no where NEAR the first teacher there. When I leave at 5:00 pm, I am no where near the last teacher there. There is a strong work ethic here. Our job is never done, so it's hard to get in late, and it's hard to go home. Our building is open on Sundays, and "any given Sunday", you'll find me and a bunch of other teachers there. Many of my students struggle to find success, but I do think they know that we are NOT giving up on them. We want them to work hard, and we're working hard too. It's a good, kind, hardworking place to be.
