My school is very student-focused and our motto is 'We are too great for small dreams'! The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and safe with strong leadership and great diversity. My students are kids; they are 8 and 9 years old and I cherish the fact that this is their childhood. They are like sponges each day as they absorb what goes on around them, what we do in class, and what they read on their own. I am amazed everyday at the snippets of information that they pick up on and share with me. We have placed emphasis on building our class family from the beginning. Being able to watch my students play with special needs students, seeing them stand up for each other, and hearing them explain and work problems out together is the most remarkable affirmation I could ever ask for. My students are kids; kids that are going to grow up to be respectful, successful adults.
