One of my favorite quotes is, "Some things are not meant to be understood, but believed." Many of my students are misunderstood. For some of them, school is a sanctuary to escape problems in their homes and communities. While they may be misunderstood at times, I believe in every one of them. I believe they can all make a difference in our world, and I want to help them make that difference. To help my students reach their potential, I design my classroom to be a safe, but rigorous learning environment where they learn to read, write, speak, and listen. As they become more comfortable with the fluidity of language, I see each one of my students become an author. All of them have a story to tell.
