My students are growing up with the world against them. In a rural town, they are put in "no win" situations from birth. Few people outside of the school believe in their success and even some within are giving up. I see that they have the same desires, the same curiosity we all have, but few people engage them long enough to draw out their abilities. The school is working on changing their perception in the community but without funds and technology it is hard to increase the students learning and therefore create a positive change in the students, school and community. I love these kids. I see how much they need and how much they also lack.
