The students who created this club attend a rural Northeast Connecticut school of about 350 students. Our school uses a STEAM approach combining Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. This year our school added many after school clubs. These clubs provide enrichment opportunities for students in a community where access to a variety of activities is difficult for many families. The students who have organized this remote control club have worked diligently to plan it. They approached administrators for approval. They set up trial runs by bringing in their own RC cars to use during recess where our school grounds make the perfect RC space. They are persistent and spent much time learning about RC cars and demonstrating that knowledge by talking and writing about them. After getting approval to add the club to our new after school activities they approached me with the idea of being club adviser and doing a project through DonorsChoose.org
