The school in which I teach opens it's doors to a melting pot of families. The diversity in our community is outstanding. It is a tight knit community where we make the little we have work for not just ourselves but our neighbor. We try to access all of our resources in order to create a school with equity. My school is a title 1 school and the majority of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. Due to the lack of funding there is a great need for updated tools for teaching. I have accrued the majority of the expenses for the items in my classroom personally. My students prove to me every day that they are worth it. They are hungry for the opportunity to grow and expand their thinking and the families are encouraging and supportive. I incorporate as much technology as I possibly can but there are still many limitations.
