My students have many different strengths and weaknesses. I have 6 children who are in my special education classroom all day because of their disabilities. In addition, I run many different groups to target the reading skills of general education students who are struggling. Although they all have special needs, they are all very unique and deserve the same access as their typical peers. The socio-economic status of the students at my school is primarily low income and they do not have the same opportunities or experiences as children with higher level of incomes. Many of my students have never used any type of technology prior to entering my class. Their families are focused on being able to put food on the table and provide their children with the basics like pencils, paper, and books.
