My school is located in a low income and urban environment. This year, my six students with Autism are lower functioning and younger than ever before. However, they are still full of energy and enthusiasm. My students struggle with a variety of sensory issues and require a lot of attention in this particular area. Although I spend much of my own money to cater to their needs, there are certain items I cannot afford. I need your help! I want to create and calmer learning environment in order to achieve maximum independence. Independence is a major goal of my school and something I, as their teacher, strive to obtain for my students every day. I have begun to create a designated sensory area where my students can go to relax and de-stress. I am in need of a few items to complete my area and help my students!!
