Award winning pictures books can help students learn to read by engaging them in colorful, informative and impressive books. Outstanding picture books provide phenomenal opportunities to engage the beginning reader in quality literature as they explore and acquire the skills to master the amazing task of learning to read. These students will be given the opportunity to check out these books in the library, take them home to read with family, and read these books in the classroom as well. In the library, students will interact with the books by discussing, writing, and drawing responses to the literature. These new books will allow our students to choose from a collection of superior books that will allow them to read independently and with the help of teachers and parents.
