My students have autism and sometimes the normal environment can cause them to become overstimulated where they need a calm environment to go for a break. Currently our sensory area is outside of the classroom but we would like to create one inside the classroom so that an overstimulated student doesn't have to walk through the whole school to get to an area to calm down in.
