Students in my classroom will be able to focus on their learning while having a seat of their choice. The ball chairs, bean bags, crates, and stadium seats will enable students to keep focused and engaged in learning, instead of off-task. Research proves that giving students a choice in seating improves behavior and academic performance. Students can be more successful in school, and feel better about their successes each day. My ultimate plan would be to have an Alternate Seating Classroom to give each child a choice of a seat, whether it be on the floor, bean bag, bouncy chair, etc. Children should be comfortable while learning. This will help to meet their learning styles one child at a time.
