Picture a classroom with a state of the art Promethean board and individualized iPads for each student to allow for seamless differentiation. Now I want you to picture a classroom with one projector screen, an antiquated desktop and a personal laptop from the teacher. Now envision 35 plus students, all with different learning styles huddled around these two computer screens straining to get a visual of the activity at hand. The first scenario describes my students' counterparts in the northern end of the county. The second describes them. With a state championship title, it is quite hard to imagine a school without resources; however, such is the reality my students live in. Struck with a horrible tragedy that touched every heart, my students have felt the hurt and pain of losing a fellow class member due to a football injury. Why translate that hurt to the realm of academia?
