The books within this project are ones that will open the eyes of my students by providing opportunities to see the world as it is experienced by other groups of people. While we live in a diverse area, my students often misinterpret the classmates sitting next to them. Books are able to provide both mirrors and windows, and in this case, I'm hoping to provide both. These books will be provided to the students for independent reading, but also as part of the Global Read Aloud. Both Refugee and Amal Unbound will allow us to make connections with other classrooms on a global scale through the GRA participation.
