We are a community of readers!!! My students love to read! When I tell them "you are readers!!!!" and show them how to decode text, their little faces light up because they realize it is true! They JUMP on every opportunity to check out books from our classroom library (especially Mo Willems' Pigeon and Elephant and Piggie books:) to keep at their desk and enjoy with friends during buddy reading. They LOVE getting out their "good fit" bags and finding a cozy spot to read just right books during independent reading. And- they CAN'T WAIT to show off what they've been working on when they visit with me and are anxious to learn something new that "good readers" do!
