The materials I'm requesting here would be used primarily for 2 Advanced Placement Biology classes. I also teach 3 other biomedical science classes and the equipment I've requested will be important for those students as well. I teach in a biomedical science magnet program of a Title 1 school, located in a low socioeconomic, urban neighborhood. Because I teach in a magnet program, my students come from all over the school district and are a very diverse group ethnically and socioeconomically. They are generally bright and motivated. They range in age from 14-18. Most of my students are focused on careers in the medical field while others are interested in engineering and computer science. Some of the biomedical students want to be physicians, some want to be research scientists, others want to be technicians or paramedics, etc.
