My school is located in the urban-core of our city. Due to the generally low socioeconomic status of the community, our school qualifies as a Title I school. We service a large population of students who are learning to speak English as a second language. Any donations will be greatly appreciated and wisely utilized by our class. As a fairly new teacher, I am still working to acquire furniture and furnishings to create an organized and nurturing classroom environment. I am also working to build up a variety of educational materials to support my students' learning. These items include but are not limited to: chapter books, flair pens, privacy tents with educational resources, math games, etc... . I have 28 students in my 2nd grade class. My students come from diverse backgrounds with various family structures, cultures and experiences.
