"I did it!!!" That is my favorite daily quote from students in my K-2 Special Day Class. My students are sweet children who are highly motivated to learn! They are a diverse group ranging from kindergarten to second grade with special needs such as autism, learning disabilities, and other health impairments. They are from a variety of racial/ethnic backgrounds, half of them are English Language Learners, and all of them qualify for free meals. I use multisensory hands on activities to engage them in the learning process. My students love music and sing songs to learn phonics, math, language, movement, and social skills. They respond well to the use of technology such as iPad apps, videos and Gonoodle. It is truly inspirational to see how hard these children work to overcome obstacles in their lives. They are amazing people and bring me more joy than I ever could have imagined!
