By getting the Lenovo laptops, my students will be able to complete research projects. The new Common Core Learning Standards requires students to research various topics in order to complete research reports. With the laptops, my students would be able to research their chosen topics on the internet. This will foster their ability to complete independent work which will stimulate their interest in learning. The amount of work they will be able to create is endless. Students will be able to work on several different forms of typing from essays to powerpoints. A large percentage of my students are already performing below grade level academically and do not have access to computers at home. On a daily basis they are always asking for the opportunity to use one of the two computers I have in the classroom to work on their math or reading skills. Having these laptops in the classroom would allow a few more opportunities for my students to work on educational websites. These websites allow students to work on their level and practice skills they have learned in school at their own pace allowing students to achieve a feeling of success.
