My students come from the bottom 5% of schools. Our school has over 80% free and reduced lunches, and a lot of my students haven't experienced very much outside of their neighborhoods and/or city. My school is a first of its kind. It's changing how teaching is done. We're called facilitators because we aren't standing in front of the classroom constantly teaching. We present problems to the students that create need to knows, and then the scholars work to find the answers to solve whatever problem has been presented to them.
