My school is a lower income school in a rural community. My students are enthusiastic 7-8 year old learners . We do have a high number of struggling readers who need more access to books. We are a large school with over 1,100 students all under the age of nine (primary campus). Our school library has few chapter books, so we need to supplement in our classroom libraries in order to continue to engage our readers. Because we are a rural community, many parents have a difficult time getting to our local library. I hope to provide a variety of books to engage all levels of readers within my classroom.
