My classroom is a mixed ability classroom, a mixture of special education classroom and general education students. As 8th graders they are preparing to enter high school and are required to take several NYS exams during the year. We are located in a high need area and many of the students are from low income families. Being that we are in a high need area, as a school we are greatly lacking in supplies, especially technology supplies. My students have computer class, but no computers! Which is why I feel that if I could at least get one computer/netbook in the class I could hook it up to my digital projector and engage my students in the lessons. As the special education teacher I focus on English, Science and Math.
