The students in my class need social emotional education more than traditional curriculum in order to succeed in future classrooms. The materials provided at the moment are extremely limited. There needs to be a school counselor to teach these skills, however there is not a school counselor provided at our school. I would like to provide these lessons in my classroom throughout the week. These materials would enhance the lessons by providing examples and manipulatives for students to connect with. They will give students colorful visuals and real-world examples. Since they rarely, if ever, see examples of appropriate social behavior at home, we must provide as many useful examples as possible at school. This is my goal.
