My seventh grade science students come from a wide variety of socioeconomic backgrounds, although over 50% of them qualify for free or reduced priced lunch. Our school consists of grades six through eighth arranged in grade level interdisciplinary teams. My students are eager to learn about science and especially investigating the environment in which we live. Our school is located in our county's largest town, surrounded by the primarily agricultural and rural countryside where most of the students live.
