Quite simply, my students are poor. Several are homeless. Many receive their best meals at school. Often they are dirty or wearing clothes that are too big or too small for them. Holidays and birthdays are sparsely celebrated. But the beauty of the child is that my students are also so rich in spirit. They are rich in joy and a love of learning. They are resilient and happy. They easily give love to those who work with them. Our school offers a happy, bright place for these students. We pride ourselves on being a family, a real community in a place where it is hard to find one. We are doing our best to be the best for these students.

About my class
