I teach at an economically disadvantaged high school where most students lack academic support and financial resources. I want to incorporate programs and college readiness systems to help my students, such as AVID. AVID's mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. The three main components of the program are academic instruction, tutorial support, and motivational activities. The goal of AVID is to educate the "whole student."
