My kids are some of the best 5th graders around. I never thought I could teach ten and eleven year-old students, but once I met them...there's no going back. These kids are so inquisitive and eager to learn about the world around them. I'm so fortunate to teach science because at this age, they want to ask why about everything and that is such an important skill in science and life. My school believes in teaching students, not lessons. Here, everyone is someone. I usually have about 100 unique individuals come through my classroom door each day and I strive to create lessons that cater to their abilities and learning styles because I want to draw them in and encourage an enthusiasm for asking "why" that will carry them through the rest of their lives.

About my class
