My algebra classes are self-contained special education classes. My students have different types of learning disabilities that make learning math harder for them. Many come to my class discouraged, because they have struggled in math before. It is my job to help them see how they are making progress and catch the vision for what they can do. Most of my students also read below grade level. I work at a public neighborhood school located in a neighborhood of Chicago that is extremely ethnically diverse. Most of the students at my school are considered to be high poverty, and many students are immigrants or refugees. My students come from more than 30 different countries and speak more than 20 different languages. I want to be a part of helping my students achieve goals of attending college and having fulfilling careers. Join me!
