We are a first grade classroom at a title 1 school. Many of my students do not have a whole lot at home, so it is hard to get parent involvement for classroom donations. I am also a first year teacher, so I do not have a lot of materials. Many of my students did not have books at home, so I spent my own money to buy them books. Now that they have books at home and in the classroom, they need chairs and a carpet to sit on while they read. They are at the age where they cannot put books down because they just learned to read...and they absolutely love it! I have a class of students who think books are the most amazing adventures they'll ever go on!
