Hello! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my page. As a fairly new teacher with three years in the profession, I have found that students are only as motivated as their teacher. Reading and writing has always been my passion, and I put an emphasis on choice reading for my students. In a world of standardized testing and strict curriculum, I believe that the freedom of choice is often rare. English can build a foundation for the rest of school subjects, and I do not want my students to lose interest in the power of reading. I teach a 10th grade course at Gettysburg Area High School, and my students take a Keystone exam at the end of their semester. They are under strict instruction, and choice novels and a classroom library help to ease that stress. I truly believe in the power of reading as a life long skill, and I appreciate your time.
