I teach second through fifth grade children with special needs who live in a high need community. For most of my students English is there second language. My students are labeled as Mild to Moderate MR (Mentally Retarded). They have a wide range of disabilities from down syndrome to speech impediments, autism and sight problems. Despite my students' challenges they are enthusiastic and curious about learning. My students have high energy levels and love hands and visual learning materials.
