My physics teacher let us experience why physics is "phun". Now that I'm a teacher, my physics students deserve the same hands-on experiences that I had at a school with a larger science budget. My students are 15 through 21 year old English language learners in a large urban area. Most have full-time jobs outside of the time that they spend in school working towards their GEDs. Unfortunately, as a small charter school, we do not have access to the same science funding resources as a traditional public school. The majority of the class has Individual Education Plans (special needs accommodations), with varying levels of literacy in English or their native languages.
