We have a very diverse school population with a high population of language learners, nearly 70%. We currently have over 30 countries represented in our school. We are also a Title I school with nearly all students qualifying for free/reduced lunch. We serve all of our students both breakfast and lunch each day. For many of our students, these are the only meals they can count on throughout the week. In spite of this, or perhaps because of it, our learners are happy, excited, and engaged in learning tasks. They are eager to share what they know and can do. They need a variety of creative outlets and crave movement and activity. Many of our parents are as excited to learn and share in activities as the students are - especially our ELL parents. They engage in conversations with their children and with staff about what happens at school. They support us in our work, and the students and community benefit. Parents can see the self-confidence growing as their children learn.
