Our school recently built out a makerspace "Fifthstar Makerspace" - a 21st Century workshop where students, faculty, staff, and community members can create, fix, share, and learn. As a school, we would love to be a leading role in the local maker community. With the heat press machine and the supplies, my students will be able to create, modify, and master printing skills on clothing, coffee mugs, and other materials/media. It is a mission for me as a digital media teacher to provide every avenue of interest's from my students into a passion for them. These supplies will give them first-hand experience from drafting an idea on paper to digitizing, to printing, the full design cycle! We will start by using the press on t-shirts and progress to other materials like hats and mugs to promote our programs and school With your generosity and donations, we hope this project can lead our students into new entrepreneurship opportunities with local residents and small businesses in the community.
