I teach in a high school with majority of black and Hispanic students. In addition, more that 75% of students qualify for free or reduced lunches. However, in most cases, the socioeconomic challenges do not impede students' academic achievements. Most of our students are motivated and eager to take challenges in order to succeed academically. By taking highly rigorous classes like IB (International Baccalaureate) or AP courses, these students set an example for others that it is possible to perform at the high academic level. Our school provides many opportunities for students to enroll into interesting and academically rigorous courses and teachers in our school are dedicated and knowledgeable professionals who strive to motivate and inspire students to perform to their full potential.

About my class
