The student population of our school consists of 93% that qualify for free and reduced lunch. Many of our students do not have access to books in their homes, and rely on checking them out at school. Many of the books that we have in our collection at this time are original to our library. They have been loved and are starting to show a lot of wear and tear. Our collection is in desperate need of weeding, but without books to replace them it is hard to justify getting rid of any books. New books would allow us to refresh our collection, and the old books could be given to students to have in their homes.
